Our mission at the Nail Academy of Virginia is to produce more qualified and professional nail technicians. Dedication to this mission has made us the only nail school in Virginia with a 95% passing ratio at the state board exam.

:: Basic Nail Technology Program

The purpose of this course is to teach the students about the Natural Nail, and the ways in which they can be enhanced.

Bacteriology, sanitation, and sterilization are taught so they can protect the client and themselves from infection and disease. Nail procedures are taught so that the client will receive the best service for their needs. Each class has theory to help the student better understand the text and subjects taught so they can apply them in everyday use.

Students are evaluated by test and by doing completion sheets. Tests must be a grade of 80% or better to pass. If the student does not pass a test, they will be given extra instruction to prepare the student for the retest. Students are required to do a set amount of practical work which will be graded by a "pass" or "fail" grade, and recorded.

This ten week course will give students the 150 hours of instruction and skills required to take the Virginia state board exam.

:: Advanced Nail Technology Program

Our advanced nail tech program is for licensed nail technicians and cosmetologist who would like to improve their skills and marketing techniques. This is a six week program.

We offer day and evening classes with flexible schedules.

• Day classes are on: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10am - 3pm.
• Evening classes are on: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 4pm - 8pm. Also on Saturday from 10am - 3pm.

1. Course paid in full prior to attending school.
2. 1/2 down payment and 2nd half due during the fourth week.
3. $200.00 deposit on the day of registration, $82.00 for books and the first of 8 weekly payments due on first day of class

When properly used, an electric file is an invaluable tool for nail technicians. These machines can increase the operator's ability to earn income in the salon and help prolong the technicians' effective years behind the nail table by reducing pressure on the hands and wrists.

These 8-hour hands-on workshops provide information and demonstrations on:
